There were two projects on the nonTVTVstation made by Anonymous and Anonymous which was a constellation of different artists, different from each project. There were an idea of mix a couple of artists together and let them work together anonymously. The idea was to put the absolute focus on the art and not on CV:s, age, ethnic, sex, other pieces etc.

The first piece was a quiet complicated installation where Bloomberg was used a source both for visuals and the audio. The visuals were generated by an analogue set up using a number of TV-sets, video cameras and video-mixers and it created a most digital look. This output was the input for the audios, generated by an installation, as complicated and analogue as the one for the visuals, involving a number of old synthesizers.

The digital feeling of the piece, at least of the images – the sound was more analogue, on one hand on the other the strong connection to the methods of the video pioneers of the 1960’s and the first experiments with video feedback. I think that the connection to this tradition is more important than a maybe more obvious connections to the present time. Using Bloomberg and the stock market reports is of course a choice to work in the very present and a minute to minute thinking.

This might not be the typical mash up piece. Instead of combining several sources it uses just one. And instead of using the source unedited Anonymous & Anonymous distorted it so it was just possible to recognize it. This stresses that the surface, the composition of the image and sound was more important than any conceptual idea.
